Ryuji's personality isn't what one would call quiet or subtle. His opening gambit usually involves coarse Japanese or obscenities, depending on the context. If one is tolerant of his utter tactlessness and his indelicate nature, Ryuji is incredibly loyal, staunch, and dependable. True to his word and straightforward to a fault (even when wildly inappropriate), you can be certain that Ryuji will say what he means. Unfortunately, his loud and boisterous nature compounded with that makes him often incapable of holding back a sweltering hot retort to provocation. Overemotional and temperamental but stouthearted, Ryuji has a love for athletic events of any kind, especially running, a flair for combat, and solid guts. First Impressions: Ryuji typically comes off as vulgar and insensitive or loud and obnoxious. Some people may enjoy his antics. Likes Running, fighting, eating, ramen, salty food, meat, meat, friends, thrill rides, girls, video games, curry, sweets, cars, guns, belonging, his mother. Dislikes: Condescending people, labels, bullying, his father, bitter food. Quirks: His foot becomes a drum when he's angry or upset, and he has extreme trouble sitting still. ************ ATTENTION: SPOILERS AHEAD*********************** This history synopsis is potential spoiler territory for Persona 5. Read at your own risk. Most of what Ryuji remembers of his childhood could be summed up in an inebriated yell and the crash of a bottle against a door frame. His father was an accomplished engineer with a nasty temper he liked taking out verbally and physically on the people he gradually saw as "mooching" off of him; his soft-tempered wife and his very young son. Ryuji's mother feared to leave the house, not having the money to support herself and him by herself. When he was old enough to understand, Ryuji told his mom to escape alone, which finally in turn gave her the courage to oppose her husband and flee that wretched home. The experience had left dents in Ryuji's personality, however; a sweltering temper and an inability to pick his battles. This, compounded with his intense dislike of bullies, eventually led to a very detrimental encounter with Suguru Kamoshida, resulting in his leg being severely, near irreparably damaged and the track team he valued highly being disbanded. His reputation, already dubious due to his hot personality and inability to conform fully, suffered even more. Ryuji didn't despair; he dyed his hair blonde and tried to forge his own way, but things looked grim until the arrival of Akira Kurusu, a friend he would eventually call his closest compatriot and his leader and co-founder of the Phantom Theives. A series of trials would follow in which he awakened to his persona, came to terms with himself, and forged his own path with his new friends by his side.

Ziodyne: Heavy Electric damage to one foe. God's Hand: Colossal Physical damage to one foe. High critical rate. Matarukaja: Increase Attacking power for all allies for a short interval. Charge: Ryuji concentrates, funneling his will to nearly triple the offensive power of his next physical attack. Agneyastra: Ryuji smashes the earth in a wide radius with his persona, causing quakes and residual damage to the environment and any within it. Headbutt: Ryuji recklessly bashes his skull against a foes with such force it may concuss them, causing them to forget skills, technique, or strategies. Maziodyne: Heavy Electric damage in a large area of effect. Shocks. Electric Amp: Ryuji's thunder-based attacks are augmented. 「SEITEN-TAISEI」: Ryuji's evolved persona sacrifices a portion of his strength to substantially increase his speed. Utilizing this facet of himself, he gains access to new abilities. Evade Wind: Ryuji's evasion against wind-based attacks is augmented. Ziodyne: Heavy Electric damage to one foe. God's Hand: Colossal Physical damage to one foe. High critical rate. Matarukaja: Increase Attacking power for all allies for a short interval. Charge: Ryuji concentrates, funneling his will to nearly triple the attack of his next physical attack. Swift Strike: Ryuji surges forth in a whirlwind assault, attempting to strike all foes simultaneously with multiple strikes. Attacks 3-4 times per interval. Skull Cracker: Ryuji smashes a foe's skull with a blunt object. It is not pleasant. Medium chance to confuse. Maziodyne: Heavy Electric damage in a large area of effect. Shocks. Vital Spirit: Ryuji possesses well-honed endurance and durability. His stamina is considerable. Appearance: Ryuji has unkempt, static dyed blonde hair and big, expressive brown eyes with smaller brownish eyebrows. He is very physically fit and in excellent shape.
