Therefore, she intentionally lost to Vira, who took the victory and the position. However, there eventually came to light a plot to utilize the primal, Luminiera, who was tied to the town. They sought to use Katalina as its sacrifice, a scheme Vira near-singlehandedly foiled by staging a one-man coup of the castle and taking the slumbering primal for herself. After their clash, Katalina forgave her wayward comrade and welcomed her into the party, hoping her feelings had quelled somewhat. At 12, even the patriarch, his father, could barely best him. Not satisfied with the praise and admiration lavished upon his young shoulders, Madara strove further, strove to be better. He needed to be, so the blight of war didn't close around the last thing he wanted to protect. The clan leader's cold, caked-on rage made him more of a commanding officer than someone to pass lazy afternoons with. Izuna was different. Izuna skipped rocks with him at the river that carried the bodies to the land of fire's great lake, and laughed at him whenever he couldn't get it over. Carried the frail frames of the three brothers who couldn't share those intimate moments, most of whom weren't even old enough to walk down the road alone in a better time. It wasn't around this formative period that Madara was given another thing he feared to lose. The meetings with the odd, talented boy began with just skipping rocks on the same riverbank and evolved into competition, cooperation, and eventual understanding. Hashirama and Madara bounced off one another well, and fought like champions, giving Madara the means to grow in ways he'd never been able to before. The two planned like kings on a war table, envisioning a world apart from the cycles of pain and death that they lived in. Their easy unity stood on quickly-giving ground, however. Their respective commanding officers soon discovered both their precious getaways and the identities of both parties. The opposing clans laid a trap in perfect unison, but the differences between the two was about to become clear. When the confrontation occurred, Madara turned his back on Hashirama, stating that no matter who stood across his path, no one would take his brother from him, awakening finally to his birthright, his eyes a glimmering red. The bitter clash between the two lineages continued to shave great branches off each other's family trees until a battle ultimately claimed Izuna's life, whipping Madara's frustration and anger into searing rage. Fortunately for them both, he yet stood weaker than his Senju counterpart, and when Hashirama finally had him beaten, still crying out for peace, Madara coldly told him to kill his own brother, and only then could true fairness and understanding be reached. Taking a kunai and with resolve in his heart, Hashirama was about to offer himself up in his sibling's stead before the Uchiha stopped the blade. Finally freed from the cycle, the two friends forged an alliance and village they hoped would stand the test of time. The Village In the Leaves was the christening of this partnership, a place where children could grow up away from the violence that had claimed so many. Madara, however, saw clouds on the horizon. Hashirama, attempting to allay his comrade's fears for the future sought to name him the effective leader of the Village, the newly-penned title of Hokage. Fearful and mistrusting of Madara, however, the elders and council members superseded Hashirama's decision and named him the Hokage instead. Hashirama pleaded with Madara to give him more time, that surely the next position would be his. Madara's Susanoo wielded two to four undulating blades that could be thrown and controlled remotely. He was also able to project and fire flaming spheres of energy in trilateral beads known as Yasaka Magatama of varying sizes. When fully produced, Madara would hover inside Susanoo to grant him a greater range of movement. Madara's Susanoo manifests itself as a massive humanoid form clad in armor, shielding him from most forms of attack so long as he has the chakra to maintain it. The Susanoo is projected from within him, and thus any movement he makes will move it in tandem. The Susanoo is capable of devastatingly powerful attacks with its twin blades and can even rend large sections of metal or bisect entire hills. Strategist: Madara's years of experience on the battlefield honed his strategic ingenuity. He could quickly devise a number of approaches and could switch approaches immediately. The longer he spent against a particular opponent, the less he needed backup tactics, as he could eventually predict what they would do and identify literal or psychological weaknesses to exploit. He could form and verify any theories he comes up with using small details. In addition to his sheer adaptability, Madara was knowledgeable on a large variety of individuals and abilities, and thus could identify techniques when used and react with the most appropriate counter to them. A researcher, he experimented on and cultivated a clone flower through the Demonic Statue of Outer Path, and from it, he created a life-support system for himself. From the beginning of his developmental years, the trait most solidly found in Suzaku is an incurable idealism and desire to see good prevail, and a massive guilt complex sprung from a desire to atone for murdering his father. These compulsions were ironed into his soul, one that he would prove he would do most anything for. Suzaku was heavily principled as he grew into a young adult, believing that revolution and warfare was inimical to the path of peace and the only way to see the utopia he desired was by non-violent means. Loyalty was another creed of his, and no matter how much he disagreed with the orders of his superiors, he followed them through. However, as he saw more and more combat and the corruption and elitism of his superiors wore on his soft heart, Suzaku became more willing to stab them in the back, citing to himself that no order could supersede his own morals or what was necessary. Suzaku's guilt-ridden tendencies worsened as a result of these compromises, and his actions on the field of battle became practically suicidal. When Euphemia died, though his hope didn't quite die with her, his guilt became unyielding rage and sorrow. Much of his trusting nature was also lost when he realized his closest friend was the very evil he'd sworn himself against. Crust on his personality began to form over the smoldering fury he felt, and his personality began to become more hardened. In future engagements Suzaku was merciless, the coldness of the detachment he felt thinly veiling the anger still burning within him. He also began to resent Lelouch for forcing the command of "live" onto him, which ran contrary to his desire to sacrifice himself in redemption for his sins. This reached its apex when the command forced him to cause the deaths of millions of people, devastating him and suppressing much of his compassionate core. However, experience in the thought realm makes him understand that the cycle of hatred must be broken for a peaceful future, and eventually murders the friend he cared so much for, and accepts sacrificing his own happiness for the sake of others eternally. In the four years since, Suzaku has tightened his resolve. In short, Suzaku remains an idealist, but has become militant and uncompromising, harsh but just, charred with rage-borne sorrow, and he has determined that service to his new empress will accomplish what he desires. Quirks: Suzaku tends to speak politely but coldly, and the only person that he seems to relent on this icy demeanor for is Nunnally. history | Suzaku, along with Lelouch, makes his first appearance in the beginning of the first episode of the series as a child, watching the Britannian Military entering Japan; C.C. was apparently watching them. After the invasion of Japan, Suzaku seemed detached but sad. Suzaku is later introduced as an Honorary Britannian soldier. Honorary Britannian Soldiers were sent to retrieve the poison gas stolen by the Japanese Resistance. Among them, Suzaku finds the vehicle and confronts Lelouch, whom he believes to be a terrorist. When Nagata opens the capsule, Suzaku quickly puts his own gas mask on Lelouch's face. The capsule opens, and instead of gas, as Suzaku expected, a restrained C.C. appears. Before they can get answers, Suzaku's superiors come and tell him not to question his briefing and to shoot the "terrorist", Lelouch. When Suzaku refuses, he is promptly shot in the back. However, the bullet is stopped by a broken pocket watch belonging to his deceased father. As a result of Lelouch's rebellion in a counter-attack against the Britannian Army and in a twist of fate, Suzaku is made the pilot of the experimental Knightmare Frame Lancelot, since Britannia wouldn't risk actual pilots on an experimental craft. The Lancelot proves to be far superior to previous Knightmare Frame models, and Lelouch is forced to flee. Just as Suzaku and the Britannian Army corners the terrorists, Clovis orders an immediate cease-fire under coercion by Lelouch. However, he finds himself under arrest afterwards for the murder of Prince Clovis; though Lelouch was in fact responsible for this, the military needs a scapegoat since they have no idea who was responsible. Lelouch rescues Suzaku from his impending execution by assuming the identity of Zero and taking credit for Clovis' murder, forcing the military to acquit Suzaku due to lack of evidence. While Suzaku agrees with Zero on the latter's assertion that the Britannian Empire is corrupt and not worth serving, he wants to change and improve the Empire from within, to show that his father's death was not in vain. This is because, as Suzaku claims, achieving results by wrong or illegal methods is meaningless. He possesses superior hand-eye coordination and has extensive military training in both firearms and hand-to-hand combat. Before Britannia's Invasion of Japan, Suzaku was trained by his instructor, Kyoshiro Tohdoh, in martial arts, and has spent most of his time training to become stronger. He is also skilled in the art of kendo despite the fact that he had quit Kendo. His physical prowess seems almost inhuman at times; such as, when Mao kidnaps Nunnally, Suzaku manages to destroy a camera-mounted machine gun with a lag time of 0.05 seconds without being struck once. At the time he assassinated Lelouch under the guise of Zero, he was also able to dodge incoming gunfire from 6 separate Knightmare Frames. Ace Pilot: As the pilot of the Knightmare Frame Lancelot, Suzaku is an extremely skilled pilot, with a 94% efficiency rating from Lloyd based from his simulator scores. His lack of tactics and strategies baffles Lelouch, since he fights with instinct instead of thinking or using his mind. The mecha's superior abilities also help, as few other Knightmare Frames can match its astonishing speed or overcome its considerable defenses even if they outnumbered the Lancelot by a tremendous degree. This has been mitigated as of the year 2018, wherein newer Knightmare Frames have filled the technological gap. Even when Lelouch managed to predict his movements, Suzaku's reflexes allowed him to narrowly escape what would have otherwise been certain death. As seen during the Britannian massacre of the Shinjuku Ghetto, he got the Lancelot to perform a mid-air kick, the same move he used on Lelouch in the underground tunnels. Serious but solid and dependable. Kuzuki does break away somewhat from this from having a mildly bizarre sense of humor that comes out at strange times such as when looking at a dismembered corpse or staring at roadkill at 3 in the morning on a stakeout, perhaps as a callback to his previous personality. Almost nothing of the cruel, diabolical and tyrannical being known as Set remains, however. In contrast, Kuzuki is grounded and practical yet idealistic and mildly fantastical, with a bit of a hero complex and an sometimes worryingly aggressive pursuit of justice. Kuzuki is the sort of man to burst into a room full of mobsters and declare THEY'RE ALL UNDER ARREST at top volume by himself with a sidearm. Kuzuki tends to also be unbelievably blithe, shrugging off strange events and poor occurrences with the ever-affable phrase "Don't sweat it. Bad for the skin." A memoir from his mother which he repeats like a mantra. Kuzuki is friendly but rarely outgoing, mostly tending to observe and stay in the background of social occasions. Quirks: Kuzuki's has an avid love for flying, birds, and two-wheeled vehicles, things that tend to clash with his water-and-sand based abilities. history | Kuzuki Ikeda was a fairly quiet boy growing up in rural Edo who became a fairly quiet man who moved to the heart of Tokyo to pursue a career in law enforcement. Diligent and serious, interested in few things besides getting through the day able to say he did all he could in that span of time. A prime example of the Japanese police force, uninterested in the glory-hounding ways of many of his peers or the status or paycheck rising in the ranks might have brought. Kuzuki was compelled more by the small pleasures that could be gained from back-breaking work of being a decent cop and the idealism that burned behind his cavalier, mild demeanor. At heart, this nondescript cop believed to a childish degree that the police were heroes, and had unsaid but powerful aspirations to finally embody the ideals of his youth. That said, there wasn't much that stood out about him until the event that tore his small world asunder. Much has changed, but even in his newly blackened (or rather, more newly discovered to be so) soul beats the fire of a rank sentimentalist. The aforementioned event was when he died. Or, 'died.' The 32-year old pupa-human housing a being grander in scale than he could've imagined died. The convoluted schemes of a millennia-old devil clad in his skin by the name of Set had stolen the soul and body of an infant growing in his mother's womb, and that infant had been him. Set was an ancient god of the Egyptians, a trickster of legendary scale who feared he also would began to disappear into irrelevance as the rest of his kin did in the face of modernity. The old gods of Egypt, devoid of worship and belief, slowly began to dissipate like a clot of leaves at the end of autumn. To avoid this fate, Set collaborated of several devils of separate pantheons to conspire against and eventually consume the essence of all his fading brethren, a feat which had never been preformed yet before. This infused Set with the combined strengths and believed powers of all the Gods of Egypt, elevating him to a state few demons or even Gods could match. Set sought to use this new power in a grandiose scheme to usurp the Lord of Hells, the Steward of Gehenna known most commonly as Beezlebub. A demon of unimaginable scale who had overthrown the previous lord Mephistopheles himself, Beezlebub's cruelty and grim strength were peerless. Few know of the events that took place during this bloody campaign, much less Kuzuki himself, but what has been revealed to him was that the coup eventually ended in complete failure and with the death of Set himself. Demons do not die in the conventional sense, however; their power leaks and they become nothing more than an imp, forced to start over again and again until they can regain their once-held might, if they are even capable of doing so. Set had other plans, however. Knowing he may be defeated, Set placed a contingency in the form of entrusting a fragment of his soul to an imp of the catholic religion by the name of Turgid. The fragment was meant to act as an anchor that would pull the rest of him toward it should he ever fall in his quest, giving him a mortal's lifetime to plan and recuperate away from Beezlebub's wrath; for the one weakness known of the Steward of Gehenna was that his influence could never cross over into the world of mortals. However, this too would end in a spectacular failure. Through unknown means, Kuzuki's willpower managed to survive his death and wound up in the driver's seat, somehow overpowering Set and assuming partial control of the demon's power. The imp named Turgid was astounded and thoroughly baffled at his abusive, tyrannical master suddenly speaking kindly albeit confusedly. The imp soon found his eternal headache returning however, as Kuzuki stubbornly refused any placation to return to hell or at least to set Turgid free, declaring that he would find a way to go to heaven instead, and he needed the imp around to explain shit and for moral support. "Endlessness"): Being a conceptual existence as well as a monstrously powerful deity/demon, it is nearly impossible to fully kill Set. After conventionally 'dying', Kuzuki will eventually reform with no adverse side effects. The severity of his usage of power at the time of expiration as well as the belief in him will impact the amount of time it takes to do so, which can range anywhere from less than a few minutes to several decades. ئو قوة إلهية (Godly Force lit. "Of Divine Strength"): Set's martial capabilities are an amalgamation of several gods of war as well as an entire pantheon of the divine and the fullest extent of his power can only be estimated. Though, this considerable strength tends to go underused as Kuzuki both does not know his body can perform these feats and further Set himself relied mostly on trickery and sorcery than brute force. غضب النيل ("Wrath of the Nile"): The belief that the Nile was the source of all waters and thus all life gives Kuzuki dominion over any body of water he encounters, allowing him to shape, alter, and manipulate it as he pleases. In addition, this also gives him power over the gaseous hydrogen in the air, being able to form it into water he can use as he would any other form of water. This power does not solely extend to natural water, and set is also able to solidify or alter the temperature of the water he manipulates, though Kuzuki is inexperienced with the specifics of doing so. همسة الكثبان ("Whisper of the Dunes"): Set is a divinity of the desert, the amalgamation of several. Kuzuki is able to freely manipulate sand (and dirt, to a lesser degree), as well as being able to morph any part of his form into sand, which he can then control with the same level of proficiency. This is, however, not entirely an involuntary action. Kuzuki must be aware of a force that seeks to damage him in order to properly account and defend himself, though as long as he IS aware that he is in danger the act is semi-instinctual and does not require him to fully comprehend what is attacking him or where the assault is intended. ساعة الرمل ("Hourglass"): The sands of time were a more esoteric and complex portion of Set's purview. Kuzuki has barely trod upon these abilities, but what he is able to do when pressed is sense the "flow" of someone's actions and his own. With monumental effort, Kuzuki is able to "suspend" himself, granting him a small window in which he is able to interrupt or alter that flow as he pleases, though the range of this ability can only be guessed at. In addition, a more simple expression of Set's mastery over time manifests itself in the ability to age or de-age an object Kuzuki makes physical contact with, causing it to decay or renew as he pleases. المستيقظ (Being of Chaos lit. "Awakened One"): Set is a chaotic and magic-infused existence by nature, and this is magnified significantly by his years of operation in Gehenna's halls. Though he barely knows how to use them or their effects, Kuzuki is technically capable of a considerable variety of magics and sorceries. الشغبر ذو الرأسين (Two-Headed Jackal): Set had a massive spectral guard jackal with two heads that can shift into any form of transportation necessary at the time. Whatever twisted code he holds appears entirely unique to him and indiscernible to any who try to decipher it. However, he does seem to hold affection towards Tomura, his successor, and some comrades in the past who have either been lost to old age or eliminated by All Might or other heroes. All For One is polite and perpetually collected, even clapping in respect for Best Jeanist's technical skill though it stood opposed to his interests. All For One appears to be fascinated with chaos and appears most interested in conflict and things that will beget discord and opposition, and will take steps to tear things down, even when he built them himself. Quirks: Being without the upper half of his face including his eyes and nose, and mostly swathed in medical equipment, coupled with his unemotional tone, it can be difficult to impossible to understand what All For One is feeling at any given time. history | ****WARNING, SPOILERS IN LATER PARAGRAPHS FOR THOSE WHO ONLY WATCH THE ANIME OR ARE NOT CURRENT WITH THE MANGA**** Very little is known about the literal faceless evil known only by the name of the power he possesses, All For One. What IS known by a precious few is that as humanity was just stumbling into its comprehension of the evolutionary leap that quirks brought, a man with the power to both steal the abilities of others and impart them to whomever he desired gained overwhelming power within the span of a few years, achieving such widespread control that he was able to seize the government of Japan, becoming its undisputed monarch. However, his suppression of information concerning both his ascension and reign was so complete that the minuscule understanding of him dwindles every year as the few who may have had first-hand experience slowly succumb to old age. Even the event as a whole fades more into obscurity as time wears on. For many years, the general public knew nothing of him, until All Might, the symbol of peace confessed to his student that his condition and fading power was as a result of a confrontation with All For One, who dealt so much damage to him that the power he'd accumulated was lessening all the time. ***REITERATION, SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T READ THE MANGA OR AREN'T CURRENT*** All For One's presence was little more than an obscured face communicating with the league of villains VIA television until his protégé's carelessness in capturing a "pawn" caused him to be nearly captured by several predominant heroes including All Might himself. Feeling the situation necessitated personal action, All For One took the stage. In a single devastating show of force he laid waste to an entire city block, including the building containing most of the heroes. All Might, though the sparks continued to wane, sought to end the generational fight between the wielders of One For All and All For One. All For One first exposed his decaying powers to the general public, seeking to destroy their faith in the symbol of peace. Then, he sought to break down All Might himself, by informing him that the boy All Might had attacked and sought to kill was the grandson of the master he valued so highly and the one who had passed on the torch to him to begin with, Shimura Nana. His plan was foiled when the voice of the people raising in unison and wishing for his victory compelled All Might to summon the dying embers of his strength and finally strike down All For One, imprisoning him after incapacitating him. Now, having driven the last dregs of strength from both All Might and taking himself off the board, All For One intends to leave their conflict to their predecessors. This Quirk, however, has many limitations: it is not a coordinate-based warping and can only warp things to and from his location, and it only works if it is used on someone with whom he has a close relationship. Air Propulsion (空気を押し出す Kūki o Oshidasu): All For One releases an air shockwave from his arms. This Quirk is further strengthened by its combined usage with Musculoskeletal Coiling and several other power-up Quirks. Forcible Quirk Activation(個性強制発動 Kosei Kyōsei Hatsudō): All For One processes a Quirk that allows him to forcefully activate someone's Quirk against their will, whether they are conscious or not. His manner of speech is very stark and direct. history | Joshua was born in Ogden, Utah to the people who came to be known as the New Caananites, a derivative of the Latter Day Saints. Joshua spent his formative years learning the ways of a missionary. In 2246, armed with knowledge of the wastes and faith in God, he traveled to spread the Word. He walked the desolate road of the I-15 and Route 89 towards Arizona, where he had a fateful encounter with two Followers of the Apocalypse, a group with an idealistic name belying their dour moniker. Edward Sallow and William Calhoun had been dispatched to study the tribal dialects that were surfacing in the post-apocalyptic world. Graham, who had studied to fluency in many of these languages, decided to help them on their task and joined their expedition. In 2247 these men visited the Blackfoot tribe. Whether Graham had mistranslated or the Blackfoots had intended to detain them from the beginning is unknown, but the small coalition soon found themselves unable to leave. At the time, the Blackfoots were at war with seven other tribes, and were plainly losing. Not wanting to be lashed to a sinking ship and against Calhoun's protests, Edward used his knowledge to train the Blackfoot tribe in the art of tactical warfare, how to maintain their guns, exercise battlefield tactics, create their own explosives. Divide et impera - divide and conquer. The Blackfoots were so impressed they named Edward their leader, taking the name Caesar. He imparted harsher lessons to the tribes he defeated - slaughtering them en masse and mounting them in cruel displays. With these acts he changed tribal squabbles into total warfare, a war which he triumphed over without much difficulty. Joshua himself remained with the newly-christened Caesar as translator and soon, translating became giving orders, giving orders became leading into battle, leading into battle became inflicting terror and pain. Calhoun was sent back to the Followers to tell them what had transpired, and Caeser named Graham his first Legate, amalgamating the surviving tribes into his Legion. Graham became the forefront of Caeser's blood-swathed conquest of the remnants of the Eastern United States. Though he was neither much a brilliant strategist nor even tactically flexible, his menace and brutality were legend. The atrocities he committed inspired fear in friend and foe alike. Vicious, unpredictable, and above all else famed for being nearly impossible to kill, even by the lethal NCR Rangers. His death at the hand of NCR sharpshooters was reported no less than five times. Caeser's trust in him was so much that he was taked with leading The Legion in its climactic battle of Hoover Dam, which would secure them a defensible capital and a power source from which to stage the coup of New Vegas. The Legion's offensive was successful at first, forcing the NCR into a retreat towards the small town of Boulder City. Intoxicated with his Victory, Graham gave chase, blundering straight into a nest of explosives and snipers which laid waste to his tired forces. This dealt a crushing blow to the Legion, forcing them to retreat back across the Colorado River. Caesar, furious and blaming Graham for the loss, ordered his first Legate's execution. Graham was covered in pitch, set aflame and cast into the Grand Canyon as an example to the remaining Legion that failure was not tolerated, even by its foremost members. Years after, even though Graham's death was all but assured, Caeser forbade any from speaking Graham's name under penalty of death. Any rumors of his survival are played down by the hihger ranks of the Legion. Caeser, however, knows. Graham's charred body flung into the abyss, but he did not die. After hoisting himself to his feet, he dragged his battered body back to his home, and the New Caananites welcomed him as if the prodigal son had returned, as if he had committed no crimes nor done anything to shame them. His second baptism at hte hands of the Legion and the forgiveness of his fellows had transformed him, rekindling his faith and discarding his pride and vanity. The three-month march of fire back to New Canaan led to disaster, however, as Caeser's desperation to see him dead had led him to seek the aid of the White Legs, a savage, warlike tribe which attempted to wipe out most of the city. The New Caananites scattered, and Daniel, a Mormon missionary, and Graham himself made their way towards Zion Canyon, where they settled together with the native tribes. Still being pursued, the White Legs began to terrorize the local tribes, to which Graham took up the position of Warchief for the Dead Horses tribe, leading many assaults in opposition. In redemption for his previous failures and perhaps from a small remnant of his old self, Joshua enlisted the aid of the Courier and wiped Zion clean of the White Legs, executing the butcher that led them and scattering their ashes to the four winds. His tribe enraged an ancient enemy inadvertently by slaughtering its worm-like young, invoking the ire of a massive dragon which laid waste to his homeland. Ferrum and his father were scouting at the time, and thus were spared the bloody fate. However, his father would not live long as without the resources of his tribe he was helpless to save himself from hypothermia and eventual starvation. Ferrum only scraped by himself due to his natural affinity with the land and the elements, feeding off of small berries of the land until he could flee that wretched tundra. From there he traveled anywhere and everywhere, the natural pulse compelling him from place to place until his abilities as a druid reached a considerable height. At the age of 39 hearsay told him of magical pearls that could make the natural unnatural, causing untold devastation and discord in their wake. By sheer coincidence he encountered another group pursuing the pearls for a different reason, deciding to join himself to their cause temporarily until he could fulfill his own duties. He unintentionally forged strong bonds of friendship with the two adventurers he'd formed a tentative alliance with, travelling by their side for many months. Eventually, their journey led them into the path of a demi-god demon intent on dominating a small island on which he could spread his malefic influence onto the mortal plain. When he was of age, he began to experience visions and dreams of an enormous lodge in the city of Absalom, though he did not pursue this until he considered until many years later when he had expanded and perfected his talents, as well as a willingness to travel beyond his home to the city that was thousands of miles of treacherous territory to seek his destiny as many had before him. After finding the lodge, he discovered it to be borne of an institute called the Pathfinder Society, an amalgamation of specialized individuals in teams seeing to tasks both great and small within the region and beyond, especially involving the acquisition of knowledge and artifacts. Despite the rather blunt nature of his revelation, he decided to pursue the career laid in front of him, and remained among the society for many years, performing myriad tasks until several conflicts of interest caused him to become adrift and compelled him to leave the Pathfinders to seek himself alone. Afterwards, the Goddess of Life and Death, Pharasma, revealed to him in a vision that she had directed him to the lodge for the Test of the Starstone, a massive undertaking meant to bestow deific powers onto a select few worthy individuals. At this point, she informed him that as a keeper of Death, she had become appalled by the collective of undead organized into a full-fledged country by a despicable wraith known as Geb, and the menace and cruelty regularly engaged in by its deathless citizens. Many times had she attempted to blight these creatures with other envoys, but they had all failed, and she believed his immense talent would allow him to succeed where they had not. As had been tested many a time, next to none were capable of triumphing over the Test of the Starstone. Most crucially, she informed Ziggy that the positive energy he had shown so much natural affinity towards was a gift of hers, and not meant to bestow life as he had so often thought and made use of it as, but rather to finally bring death to this plague that had galled her so long. Ziggy was balked and shocked, being a pacifist and a lover of life by nature, knowing that his true gift was to deliver its opposite to an entire country. After much discussion, however, he was given no choice but to accept the Goddess's way of thinking, reluctantly agreeing to be her instrument of finality. He wandered for many years, attempting to cultivate the skill and energy to pass the test. Ziggy made attempts to destroy the undead as was his new duty, but found it revolting and soul-straining, and vowed to never do it again except to preserve life or when his eventual destiny was finally fulfilled. Resentment grew against his patron deity, and the inescapable contract she had over him. For even death would be no escape, as if he somehow found his way to the grave, she'd simply deliver him directly where he stood before and demand he keep going. As tensions grew and with decades of travel, he joined the crusaders of Mendev, and gave his aid to their quest against the demons that were swathing the region in blood and fire. After so long, they grew to rely heavily on this angelkin and his miraculous abilities. He rose both in rank and respect, and before long was a trusted and coveted adviser for the legion and their interests. Stress came with the myriad of responsibilities heaped upon him in addition to his duties in combat, and when the demons finally began to recede back into their blighted realm beneath the Worldwound, he decided it was once again time to move on. The ability is both selective and extensive, and can mend even the most minor of physical wounds. In contrast, negative energy acts as the exact opposite, serving as a withering effect in all its range. This ability is very rarely used and unpracticed, as Ziggy detests it. Sorcery: Ziggy has a large repertoire of spells to draw on, among the most potent of which are his fire-based sorceries. However, he refuses to make use of these in any way that would cause harm to any individual. In addition, he has several buffs and defensive augmentations to draw on. Curses: Ziggy is an adept in cursing, possessing many debilitating hexes that can afflict or even incapacitate, usually used to pacify or staunch violence. Misfortune: Ziggy has an ability that he can use once per day per individual which allows him to make an action succeed or fail where it would otherwise have the opposite effect. For example, he can make a shot miss when it would otherwise hit, or make a shot fire where it otherwise would jam. He cannot, however, completely alter fate or change an action profoundly. For an inadequately explained reason, perhaps due to their own shortcomings or neuroses, Stephen and Linda are often derisive and distrusting of their son, assuming that any trouble he gets into is not the result of him being manipulated by the many nastier-minded members of his friends, but that he must've masterminded it, punishing him severely every time he's conned into making a stupid mistake. In addition, they make frequent comment about how much a "disappointment" their son is, going as far to apologize for his whole personality to people he befriends. His grandma was also physically and mentally abusive, though this eventually led Butters into being a stronger individual. Despite all this, Butters tends toward an optimistic outlook, despite his goofy disposition towards fake villainy. Butters leads an incredible abnormal life for a boy of his age, though not much more than any other in the bizarre town he lives in, often getting embroiled in absurd schemes of Eric Cartman's or Kyle Broflovski's. He had a Canadian girlfriend for a period who he cared deeply for, but she broke up with him during a period of divisiveness between the girls and boys. PROFESSOR CHAOS: Butters's evil alter ego is that of Professor Chaos, a villain of unimaginable power and coolness. Chaos Cloak: Professor Chaos's cloak is a featherweight titanium alloy, shielding him from heat and conventional firearms. He can also use his chaotic magic to coat himself and an ally in a shield, absorbing a fair amount of damage from any sources before depleting or disintegrating. Chaos Hammer: Professor Chaos summons an enormous warhammer, slamming the ground with it and causing massive tremors. Additionally, weaves of steel webbing emerge from the ground that has been shattered, trapping and securing those foolish enough to be caught in the attack. Chaos Storm: Professor Chaos conducts the static in the air into his gloves, subsequently releasing the stored energy outward into broad arcs that severely electrocute all enemies in close proximity. Chaos Blast: Professor Chaos draws forth the endless well of chaotic energies swirling throughout his body, channeling them into a massive concentrated burst that explodes outward.
